2018 Ried Eisenhut 1Ötw Riesling
A meaner wine than its cousin, Goldberg!
Barrel Time: 10 months
This wine comes from the hottest vineyard in Grossriedenthal, where Bioweingut DIWALD is from. A Southern-facing slope helps grow these Riesling grapes. They ripen very late and contain less sugar than the Goldberg fruit. The grapes are hand-picked in October and whole bunch pressed.
The spontaneous fermentation of the wine means that DIWALD's close relation with nature allows them to interfere as little as possible in the cellar.
An unusual minerality can be found in this wine alongside a tight acidic structure.
Preferred drinking temperature is between 8 and 12 degrees.
Preferred drinking years are between 2020 and 2030.
